A schoolboy has beaten thousands of other youngsters to land every child's dream job - official taster for a sweet company.

Harry Willsher's chief responsibilities will be eating Love Hearts, Refreshers and Cola Bottles in the name of research to make sure they are up to the standard expected by the average confectionery connoisseur.

The 12-year-old won the coveted post by emailing a description of his favourite sweet, the Drumstick lolly, to Swizzels Matlow, a confectionery company based in Derbyshire.

He will now receive sackfuls of the company's produce direct to his door in Billericay, Essex. Harry said: 'I couldn't be more delighted - I reckon it's the best job in the world.'

His proud dad Tony, 44, and mum Joanne, 40, have already accompanied him on a Willy Wonka-style tour of the company's factory.Mr Willsher said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for Harry he's loving every minute.'

'It was down to his writing skills that he got this job and we're sure he's going to get a lot out of it.''Our whole family is delighted - especially our three other children, who can't wait to get their hands on some of the sweets.'
