The charming beauty Charmi may have come up with some really talented performances but then she has always been admired for her luscious looks and appeal.
Now, there is news that Charmi is keen on coming up with a glamour role which she has not been doing from the past few ventures. It is also being said that she has given her consent to appear in a bikini if the script requires it and it is done aesthetically.
If that happens, then many say that Charmi’s graphs will soar high in the glamour table and right now, her scores have been quite low since most of her movies have been bombing at the box office.
Waiting to see the glamorous Charmi….
There were rumours that actress and L'Oreal ambassador Aishwarya Rai may have held back Sonam Kapoor from walking the Cannes red carpet. But sources close to the former beauty queen say she didn't even know that Sonam was to visit the French film festival.
"She (Aishwarya) did not even know that Sonam was going to be at Cannes because she was there for just two days (May 13-14) where her days were packed with back-to-back interactions with the international media, fashion shoots for various European fashion magazines and other business meetings besides attending all the events at the festival, " a source close to Aishwarya told.
"Anyone can go to the Cannes Film Festival as a visitor and that is how many in the film fraternity and normal public go from across the world."
Confusion ensued when L'Oreal issued a list of those ambassadors that were to represent the brand at the French festival and Sonam's name was missing from it. This, despite a formal announcement made by the company officials on Sonam's presence at the Cannes at a press conference in Mumbai on May 10.
Sonam, who was earlier set to leave for Cannes Monday and was excited to rub shoulders with Aishwarya and Hollywood A-listers like Elizabeth Banks and Eva Longoria, finally did not go for the film festival when company officials asked her to stay back.
According to media reports released thereafter, Aishwarya was not very upbeat about the fact that Sonam would share the same stage with her as the face of L'Oreal and asked company officials to deny her the opportunity of being there.
But clarifying their decision of holding back Sonam to go for Cannes, a spokesperson from L'Oreal said in a press release: "We do not want to take part in or encourage any controversy involving our spokespeople.
There were adverse reports in certain sections of media after some comments by Sonam Kapoor, which were presented out of context.
"Following this, in order to avoid further escalation, we have advised Sonam not to go to Cannes as was planned earlier, bearing in mind that there would be more interesting opportunities for future appearances in Europe for her."
A schoolboy has beaten thousands of other youngsters to land every child's dream job - official taster for a sweet company.
Harry Willsher's chief responsibilities will be eating Love Hearts, Refreshers and Cola Bottles in the name of research to make sure they are up to the standard expected by the average confectionery connoisseur.
The 12-year-old won the coveted post by emailing a description of his favourite sweet, the Drumstick lolly, to Swizzels Matlow, a confectionery company based in Derbyshire.
He will now receive sackfuls of the company's produce direct to his door in Billericay, Essex. Harry said: 'I couldn't be more delighted - I reckon it's the best job in the world.'
His proud dad Tony, 44, and mum Joanne, 40, have already accompanied him on a Willy Wonka-style tour of the company's factory.Mr Willsher said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for Harry he's loving every minute.'
'It was down to his writing skills that he got this job and we're sure he's going to get a lot out of it.''Our whole family is delighted - especially our three other children, who can't wait to get their hands on some of the sweets.'
Harry has already been given five sacks of treats which he has shared out with his fellow students at Billericay School as well as sister Jazmine, 15, and brothers Oliver, seven, and Kyle, two
Skin from a factory has long been the dream of dermatologists. Now, scientists are on track
to develop what they claim is the "artificial skin".
A team from four Fraunhofer institutes in Germany is developing the first fully automatic production system for two-layer "skin models" -- an almost perfect copy of human skin or artificial skin.
"Our engineers and biologists are the only ones who have succeeded in fully automating the entire process chain for manufacturing two-layer skin models," said leader Jrg Saxler of Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT.
According to the scientists, in a multi-stage process, first small pieces of skin are sterilised. Then they are cut into small pieces, modified with specific enzymes, and isolated into two cell fractions, which are then propagated separately on cell culture surfaces.
The next step in the process combines the two cell types into a two-layer model, with collagen added to the cells that are to form the flexible lower layer, or dermis. This gives the tissue natural elasticity, they said.
In a humid incubator kept at body temperature, it takes the cell fractions less than three weeks to grow together and form a finished skin model with a diameter of roughly one centimetre.
The technique has already proven its use in practice, but until now it has been too expensive and complicated for mass production, according to the scientists.
"The production is associated with a great deal of manual work, and this reduces the method's efficiency," Prof Heike Mertsching, a team member of Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB, said.
The team is now handling the development of the biological fundamentals and validation of the machine and its sub-modules, taking care of prototype development, automation and integration of the machine into a complete system.
"At the beginning, our greatest challenge was to overcome existing barriers, because each discipline had its own very different approach.
"Meanwhile, the four institutes are working together very smoothly. Everyone knows progress is impossible without input from others. Our goal is a monthly production of 5,000 skin models with perfect quality," Saxler said
They may have missed out an opportunity to showcase their film Kambakkt Ishq at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival due to the ongoing stand off between the producers and the multiplex owners but that hasn't dampened producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International's spirits. They are now amidst talks about getting an as bigger platform for showcasing their film.
There is a strong buzz that they are presently in talks with the Indian Premiere League management to allow their stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor to participate in the finals of the tournament on May 24th.
Sources further reveal, “If the talks are successful then Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor are both likely to perform at final venue in South Africa and the promos of the film shall be shown at the event."
IPL is not new for Akshay as one can recollect he was the brand ambassador for the Delhi Daredevils team during the IPL season one.
His rope way entry to the match venue at the Ferozshah Kotla ground was much written about too last year. Last year Aamir Khan along with nephew Imran Khan had gone to watch the IPL finals at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium. But they had not performed but had gone to just enjoy the game.
There is also buzz that Kareena shall be performing a special dance number from Kambakkt Ishq at this year's IIFA Awards to be held at Macau on June 13th evening.
